The Stahlecker Reports

The Stahlecker Reports were created by SS-Brigadefürher Franz Walter Stahlecker. The first one was created in late 1941, and the second is undated, but was most likely created in early 1942, based off of the fact that it utilizes figures which were made available to Stahlecker around this time.

Note that these are not the original Stahlecker Reports; they are copies made for the USHMM. The originals reside in Russia.

In these reports, Stahlecker outlines the progress of the Final Soultion in the areas assigned to his Einsatzgruppe (Einsatzgruppe A) up to the time of each report's writing.

The Second Report came with a map attached, which gives a brief summar of Jews killed in each region. It is viewable below:

Map from the Stahlecker Report, entitled, "Jewish Executions Carried out by Einsatzgruppen A," showing coffins and numbers of excutions carried out in Europe.

This map was entered into evidence at the Einsatzgruppen trial.

The map shows the area between the German-Soviet Demarcation Line and the area of the farthest German Army advance in the Soviet Union at the time. A Summary Report of charts, maps, and illustrations were compiled by SS- Brigadier General Stahlecker. This information was presented to the Reich Security Main Office in Berlin in February 1942.

All of the deaths recorded in this map occured between June 22, 1941 and January 31, 1942

These reports are valuable to the study of the Holocaust in the USSR, especially in the northern areas to which Einsatzgruppe A was assigned.
